Fly on the wings of creativity
This project is a proposal for a mascot for the International School of Comics, an Academy of visual arts, music and writing, with 10 schools throughout Italy and one in Chicago. The project itself was born as a school project for the Graphic Design course.
After an in-depth analysis of brand identity, target and competitors, I created a mascot that embodies the core values of the school (creativity, passion, inclusivity, dynamism, positivity) with the goal of giving the school better brand awareness and improve the target’s opinion of it.

Mirò is a young raven, with colourful feathers in his wings and tail.
He has a small flame floating above him, that represents his passion and talent, that grows when he’s occupied with the artistic activities he loves so much.
He’s cheerful, bright and chatty, if a bit clumsy.
The other ravens, more serious and grouchy, ae not fond of his unconventionality and non conformism, and deem him a rebel, unprofessional and undisciplined. But in reality, Mirò is just a bit different: his love for the arts is too strong to be ignored, and he can’t help following his passion even though it’s unusual for a raven, but he does so with great discipline, commitment and seriousness.
And now, in the School. he’s finally found his home, where his passions are accepted, understood and encouraged.
The launch strategy involved an online teaser campaign, an a launch event.
Teaser phase: posts on social media hinting at something new and encouraging followers to try and guess what it is.

After launch, the mascot can be integrated in every context.
For example, on the School’s website, on brochures, on gadgets etc.
Lastly, I developed an advertising campaign for the School, incorporating the new mascot.
